The American R&B producer, songwriter, actor and rapper has achieved worldwide success with five charting singles since his 2006 debut. As well as his own top ten tracks, he has a strong catalogue of chart topping singles that he has penned for other artists, including the track that boosted his name into mainstream circles with the song ‘Let me Love You’ for the singer Mario, which resulted in Ne-Yo being noticed by the industry and signed to Def Jam Recordings.

Ne-Yo released his debut album, In My Own Words in 2006 and the singles ‘So Sick’, ‘When You’re Mad’ and ‘Sexy Love’ all peaked within the top ten of the charts. His follow up album, 2007’s Because of You debuted at number one. In 2008 the third album The Year of the Gentlemen was released, with both the album and lead single ‘Closer’ being nominated for Grammy awards in 2009. Ne-Yo also played with the Goo Goo Dolls at a fundraiser concert for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.
